RHR Smith & Company, C.P.A.s is a full service, Maine-based accounting firm, which specializes in building client relationships. Our Development Services division offers consulting and other strategic expertise to our clients. Its staff includes a former executive director with 20 years of experience in nonprofit management, and extensive knowledge in business and governmental organizations.

History

The firm of RHR Smith & Company, Certified Public Accountants was formed by Ronald H. R. Smith in 1997. Since August of 2001, Ron H.R. Smith has been the sole shareholder of the Company. It is a Maine based firm with offices in Buxton and Machias and holds its License to practice in the states of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts. Together, Ronald H. R. Smith, C.P.A. and his staff have over 60 years combined experience providing professional accounting, auditing, computer consulting, and other internal control and financial services.

Organizational Structure

The firm is a professional corporation. Professional accounting and auditing experience is provided by a staff of 15, including five certified public accountants and two Master level accountants. Our Development Services division offers strategic expertise to our governmental and non-profit clients. Its staff includes a former executive director with 20 years of experience in nonprofit management, and extensive knowledge in governmental organizations. Our Financial Services division consists of professionals who can answer many of your complex questions throughout the year, and provide ongoing accounting support and tax services.

RHR Smith & Company, Certified Public Accountants is a small business firm, per the definition of "Small Business" as established by the Small Business Administration.

The people of RHR Smith & Company offer the solid, public accounting experience and detailed attention to quality control that you demand. The firm is audited every three years under the Peer Review Program of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and complies with all AICPA quality guidelines.
