RHR Smith & Co. has been recognized by the Government Accounting Standards Board for the firm's early implementation of stringent new standards in governmental audits as specified in GASB #34.  These standards require state and local municipalities to disclose government-wide financial operations to taxpayers, governing boards and other financial statement users.  Of the approximately 30 firms nationwide that have been recognized for this achievement, we are the only one in Maine and one of the first in New England to have this distinction.
